Indexation of the kilometer charge in Wallonia on Jan. 1, 2026

The Board of Directors of SOFICO (Société wallonne de financement complémentaire des infrastructures) has approved a tariff adjustment of the kilometer charge for Heavy Goods Vehicles in Wallonia. It will take effect on Jan. 1, 2026. The index adjustment is calculated based on the August 2025 consumer price index, thus following the price fluctuations of products and services in Belgium. The average index adjustment on January 2026 is +1,91%. The new kilometer tax rates thus absorb the price increase in material costs and labor in Belgium. Both are key components in the maintenance and repair of road infrastructure.
