This is Viapass’ cookie policy (hereinafter "Viapass", "we", or "us"). Viapass is an interregional entity under Belgian law with registered office at De Koninckstraat 40, PO Box 19, 1080 Brussels and registered in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under number 0558.940.031.

The purpose of this cookie policy is to inform you about Viapass' use of cookies. This cookie policy should be read in conjunction with the privacy policy found here.

This cookie policy is subject to change, for example, in response to new features on the website. So, we recommend that you consult this cookie policy on a regular basis. Important changes will be announced via the website. This version of the cookie policy was last modified on 01/11/2025.

I.    What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your browser, your computer or your mobile device. Cookies can perform a number of functions, such as allowing you to navigate efficiently between pages, remembering your preferences and generally improving your user experience.

When you visit our site, we generally use both essential (primarily strictly necessary) and non-essential cookies, primarily functional cookies and analytical cookies.

Cookies also usually have an expiration date. The so-called session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Permanent cookies, on the other hand, remain stored on the user's device for a certain period of time, sometimes even until manually deleted.

A further distinction can be made between "first-party" cookies and "third-party cookies". For "first-party cookies", Viapass has full control over the information collected through these cookies and places them on its website itself. With third-party cookies, data is sent to a third party because the cookies are placed by other parties (i.e. cookies from a domain other than the one you are visiting).

Information about expiration date and 'first' or 'third' party cookie can be found below.

II.    What cookies do we use?

Here below is an overview of the cookies used by Viapass.

A. Strictly necessary cookies (always enabled)

Strictly necessary cookies are required for the functioning of the website and cannot be disabled via the cookie banner in our systems. In most cases, these cookies are used only in response to an action you take that essentially requests a service, such as logging into the website or filling out a form. These cookies are placed directly on your browser by Viapass based on our legitimate interest in providing a well-functioning and secure website. You can set your browser to block these cookies or to alert you to them, but some parts of the website will then not work.

For example, which pages you view most often, how long you stay on those pages, etc. The purpose is to help us improve functionality (for example, to fix error messages on certain pages of our website) and to understand which pages and which sections are most successful. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you visited our site.

These cookies cannot be used without your prior consent and are therefore prompted when you first visit our site. You can withdraw your consent at any time (at a later date).

III.    How can you manage or delete cookies?

You can accept all cookies, reject all cookies or adjust your cookie settings via the cookie banner that appears on our website when you first visit the site. If you reject cookies or do not click on our cookie banner, only essential cookies will be placed on your browser. If you have given your consent to the placement of non-essential cookies, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent via the cookie banner on our website. You can revoke your consent at any time through the cookie settings or by changing your browser preferences. Depending on your selected cookie preferences, the full functionality or personalised user experience of this website may not be available.

Many web browsers also offer the option of controlling certain cookies via the browser settings.

You can find your rights as a data subject in Title 10 of our Privacy Policy.

V.    Retention period for personal data

VI.    Transfer of personal data

In principle, Viapass strives not to process personal data outside the EEA. Exceptionally, some data may be stored or transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
